WordPress website design for high-end businesses
Elimenti designs WordPress websites for independent businesses that compete on quality, in Chicago, its western suburbs and anywhere in the US. The site is designed around your business, built on WordPress so you can edit it yourself, and yours after the final payment. Projects start at $4,000, with copywriting, a basic SEO setup and up to three rounds of revisions included.
What you get
- Design
- A site designed around your business, your photos and your customers. Not a stock theme with your logo dropped in.
- Copy
- We write every page from a conversation about your business. You correct facts and tone during revisions.
- Basic SEO
- Page titles and descriptions, a clean heading structure, structured data and a sitemap, all in place at launch.
- Revisions
- Up to three rounds after you see the first full version.
- Your login
- Your own WordPress login, and a walkthrough at launch of how to edit the site.
- Hosting
- WordPress needs hosting that can run it. We recommend a host and set it up for you, on an account in your name that you pay directly.
- Ownership
- After the final payment, the WordPress install, theme, content and plugins are yours, with full admin access.
Page builder or no page builder
We decide per project, and the proposal says which. A page builder like Elementor lets you change a page's layout yourself, not just its words. Building without one means fewer moving parts to keep updated, and you edit the content inside a layout we've set. Which one fits depends on how much of the site you'll want to rearrange yourself.
We work both ways. We maintain ABN Construction Group's WordPress site, which is built with Elementor, and add new sections to it inside the existing design. And we build without page builders entirely: 1 of 1 Car Club is a full custom-coded build.
Editing the site yourself
You log in and change what changes most: text, photos, events and posts. At launch, we walk you through how, on your own site, so the first edit isn't a guess.
Anything you'd rather not do yourself goes through Site Care: a new page, a new section, a layout change or a plugin you want added. Plenty of owners do a bit of both.
Site Care: updates and backups
WordPress, its theme and its plugins all release updates, and a site that skips them gets harder to keep safe and working. On the $175 monthly plan, Site Care covers WordPress core, theme and plugin updates, plus backups, alongside up to four content updates a month, each an hour or less. One-off edits are $85 an hour. Turnaround is five business days.
Site Care is optional. If you leave it, the site keeps running, and you or another developer take on the updates.
Ownership, licenses and hosting
- Admin access. You get admin access to your own WordPress install, theme, content and plugins. Nothing is held on our accounts.
- Licenses in your name. If the site needs a premium plugin or theme, the license is in your name and you pay for it directly, the same way you pay for hosting.
- Hosting in your name. We recommend WordPress-capable hosting and set it up, on your account.
- No lock-in. WordPress is open-source and widely used. Any WordPress developer can take the site over.
WordPress or custom-coded?
Both start at $4,000, and neither is the lesser option. WordPress suits owners or volunteers who'll update the site often: you edit it yourself, there's a plugin for almost anything, and it needs regular updates. A custom-coded site suits a business whose site rarely changes and needs to feel as sharp as possible: it's very fast, with nothing to update and no dashboard, and every change goes through Site Care. Moving to WordPress
WordPress is our default for a redesign. That covers sites on Wix, Squarespace or Joomla, old static HTML sites and aging WordPress themes, and it leaves you able to edit your own site. Your domain comes with you, and we carry over the content worth keeping and rewrite the rest. A large archive of old pages, posts or files is scoped and priced in the proposal. Our WordPress work
Our WordPress client work so far is on existing sites, and each project is labeled with exactly what we did. For ABN Construction Group, a Lombard general contractor, it's ongoing care of a WordPress site built with Elementor and new sections inside it. For Burdi Clothing in Hinsdale, it's targeted edits to its existing WordPress site, including the event pages for its car shows. See all the work →

Questions about WordPress sites
Can I really edit the site myself?
Yes. You get your own login and a walkthrough at launch of how to edit text, photos, events and posts. Bigger changes, like a new page layout, can go through Site Care instead.
Do you build with Elementor?
When it suits the project. We decide per project, and the proposal says which way we'll build. We already maintain ABN Construction Group's WordPress site, built with Elementor, and add new sections to it.
Who pays for hosting and plugins?
You do, directly. Hosting, your domain and any premium plugin or theme licenses are on accounts in your name. We recommend the hosting and set it up for you.
Do I need Site Care?
No, but a WordPress site does need its updates. The $175 monthly plan covers WordPress core, theme and plugin updates and backups, plus up to four content updates a month. Without it, you or another developer keep the site updated.
Can you build an online store on WordPress?
No. Elimenti doesn't build online stores. If you already sell through a store platform, we link your new site to it.
